Skincare tips for Denver.

Winter is coming, and while we might be excited for ski season and cozy nights by the fire, our skin might not be so thrilled. If you're living in Colorado or another colder climate, you're no stranger to the harsh effects that winter weather can have on your skin. But fear not, because at Remastered, we've got the tips and tricks you need to keep your skin looking and feeling its best all winter long.

Cause baby it's cold outside.

First things first, it's important to understand why your skin needs extra TLC in colder climates. When the temperature drops, the air becomes drier, which can cause moisture to evaporate from your skin more quickly. This leads to dryness, flakiness, and even cracking - ouch! Not to mention, the wind and cold can cause redness and irritation, making your skin look and feel less than its best.

Don't let the sun go down on me.

One of the most important things you can do for your skin in the winter is to protect it from the sun. Just because it's cold out doesn't mean that UV rays aren't still present - in fact, they can be even more damaging when reflected off snow or ice. Be sure to wear broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30, and reapply every two hours if you're spending time outdoors.

But if you try sometimes, well you might find, you get what you need.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! This is the key to keeping your skin hydrated and healthy in colder climates. Look for a moisturizer that's specifically formulated for dry or sensitive skin, and use it twice a day - once in the morning and once at night. You can also add a facial oil or serum to your routine for an extra boost of hydration.

Exfoliation is another important step in your winter skincare routine, as it helps to slough away dead skin cells and reveal brighter, more radiant skin. But be gentle! Use a gentle exfoliant or a chemical exfoliant like alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs), and don't overdo it - once a week is plenty.

Stayin' alive, stayin' alive.

Finally, don't forget to stay hydrated! Drinking plenty of water helps to keep your skin plump and glowing, even in the dry winter air. And while it might be tempting to crank up the heat and take a hot shower or bath, try to avoid doing so, as it can strip your skin of its natural oils and make dryness worse.

Book an appointment and you'll be ready to face the winter months with healthy, glowing skin. →
